Burger Review #3 - Burger Garage

I decided I'd have a burger for lunch today. Just 2 days after Leahy's.

Let me first say, that I will return to Burger Garage no matter my opinion of the burger.

It's average. I honestly need to order the double burger to give a proper review.

But here is why I was "eh" about it today and the last 2-3 times I've had it.

it's a 4 oz burger, cooked medium(no choice). It's a mix of short rib, brisket and chuck.

I had this with lettuce, tomato  cheddar, bacon, spicy mayo and ketchup. Now, I don't normally have lettuce and tomato on the burger, i generally just eat those individually, but this burger is kind of the size of a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger from Wendy's.  I like those, but, this one is served on a potato roll(cheating). I love potato rolls. But, potato rolls themselves are good and with the size of this burger, all you really taste is the roll. Now, corner bistro also uses potato rolls, but i'm 55% sure that the burger is like 6 oz  And I like that burger(the 2nd time, not so much the first). The burger was just over-matched. I'd get it again, but as a double and even in the single state, it's not bad by any means, but it ain't a burger to talk about.

The Fries, those fresh cut Idaho Fries are the bar! They are what I will measure all fresh cut Idaho fries against. These are what I've also expected to get(I've had on par one's, but not so much consistently). SO GOOD!!!

I've had the onion strings, you kind of need a fork, so I stayed away this time.

I did have a Brooklyn Brown Ale, which was great. Yes, they have beers on tap.

Maybe I'll give this place an incomplete until my next visit. It did make it to round 2 of Burger Bracket. But that could have had something to do with the very poor showing by the competing bar down the street.

Burger Review: Jamisons Irish Pub on 2nd

Well, this visit happened this year. We ended up at Jamisons due to Blockheads being packed, secondary choices not working out and finally a coin flip.

Now I love Jamison and Jamisons Irish Pub. The wings are awesome. Crispy, with the hot sauce on the side. So good. Fries, not to shabby, but not top notch Fresh Cut Idaho Fries I will discuss in Burger Review # 3 just minutes away.

Burger was cooked nice and I enjoyed it. We will see in the near future on it's survival through the soon to be resurrected Burger Bracket NYC.

Now, we did have one issue... The server. Also known as foreign airhead. Um  there are 5 of us and you are not writing down any of our orders??? I literally paused and starred dumbfounded, the Evan way, and finally put my order in. After taking our order the airhead goes to the bar(2 of us ordered Jameson shots). I noticed she started to write on a pad of paper. Oh, now you are writing down our order???

So she drops off 2 shots of Tequila for Dudra and I and as she walks to the kitchen, I stop her and ask to read back our order(Leahy's waitress has fucked up enough i should just write down our tables orders and hand it to the kitchen personally . Well,  numerous errors existed on our order. And even after correction, Angela still go the wrong type of cheese on her burger. Digress... in to BOOBS!!!

Oh, and if you were wondering, the Tequila was not a typo. She brought us the wrong shots and we sent them back for Jamo...

Burger Review: PJ Leahys

First off, let me say that I had this burger last on 4/17/13, it is still the Champion Burger in my mind.

I cannot remember the last time i was here. Last year sometime I believe. I remember the waitress from that day. It was the same stupid bitch ass waitress from the time before that. I believe she wrote down my order, just not the right order or possibly not at all. The visits have overlapped in my memories. Bacon Cheddar Burger with all the fixins is what I get. Side of mayo too. We like to mix the mayo with the ketchup, add some pepper. Some really healthy stuff. Well, mistakes included swiss cheese, not cheddar. It was brought back out without the cheese, but you could tell that it was the same burger/bun. Oh, yeah, she forgot the bacon. & forgot the fixins. When I got them, missing a pickle... I digress. That girl was a bitch. She preferred to socialize and bitch about bad tips then actually do her job. Second Digress.

However, the burger was amazing(minus the nasty swiss cheese smell/taste). unless i sent that back. I should have wrote this review then...

anyway, the burger was amazing, i got my fixins. The fries were the mcdonalds fries, but better. We even ordered a basket of fries after.
